About Ecosperity
Ecosperity is a series of sustainability-focused conferences presented by Temasek. The conference brings together CEOs, innovators, policy-makers and thought leaders from around the world to explore the latest issues on sustainability growth. The name ‘Ecosperity’ twins ecology with prosperity – recognising that growth can and should take place in a sustainable manner.

Ecosperity 2017 is presented by Temasek, in partnership with the Business and Sustainable Development Commission. In addition to the main conference, Temasek also presents the adjunct Ecosperity Young Leaders Dialogue, which is organised by Singapore Technologies Endowment Programme (STEP) in partnership with Nanyang Technological University this year.

Business and Sustainable Development Commission
The Business and Sustainable Development Commission, launched in Davos in January 2016, aims to map the economic prize that could be available to business if the UN Sustainable Development Goals—17 objectives to end poverty and hunger, achieve gender equality, and tackle climate change by 2030—are achieved. In its flagship report, Better Business, Better World, the Commission describes how business can contribute to delivering these goals.
The 37 Commission members include leaders from business, finance, civil society, labour, and international organisations. The Better Business, Better World report was led by the commissioners, and supported by: the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
The Business and Sustainable Development Commission has overseen this report with secretariat support provided by SYSTEMIQ and the UN Foundation. Chaired by Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, the Commission comprises business leaders from around the world.

UN Global Compact Network Singapore
Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) is the national lead agency promoting Corporate Sustainability, providing a one stop concierge service for businesses to begin, deepen and broaden their sustainability journey.
As the local chapter of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), GCNS encourages companies committed to aligning their operations and strategies with the UNGC’s 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
Through various platforms for multi-stakeholder engagement and collective action, GCNS advances the stewardship of sustainable business practices, supporting Singapore’s national agenda of becoming a regional sustainable business hub.
Since its inception in 2005, GCNS has raised the level of awareness, and adoption, of Corporate Sustainability in businesses through collaboration between relevant stakeholders and practitioners in businesses, government and civil society. In addition, GCNS nurtures the next generation of sustainability business leaders through youth initiatives. GCNS is a stakeholder of the Global Reporting Initiative.

Singapore Business Federation - Apex Business Chamber
The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is the apex business chamber championing the interests of the Singapore business community in the areas of trade, investment and industrial relations. It represents 24,200 companies, as well as key local and foreign business chambers.
The Federation was established on 1 April 2002 with the aim of representing the business community’s interests both locally and overseas. Under the SBF Act, all Singapore-registered companies with share capital of S$0.5 million and above are members of SBF.
The Federation serves three key functions – all of which are essential for business improvement and expansion. SBF serves as:
• The bridge between Singapore’s business community and the Government
• The business community’s representative in building bilateral, regional and multi-lateral relationships

Stewardship Asia
The Stewardship Asia Centre is a non-profit organisation supported by Temasek Holdings committed to working with partners to uplift stewardship and foster effective governance across Asia.
The annual Stewardship Asia Roundtable has the participation of more than a hundred business leaders across Asia, from leading companies from a wide spectrum (including state-owned enterprises, sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, family businesses and institutional investors). The Roundtable’s format emphasizes rich sharing and engaging discourse amongst the business leaders gathered.

STEP
Singapore Technologies Endowment Programme (STEP) is a Temasek-linked non-profit organization, set up by Singapore Technologies Private Ltd (STPL) in 1997 to commemorate its 30th Anniversary.
Now in its 20th year, STEP has been building bridges among youth in Asia with the mission of “Engaging Youth, Beyond Borders.” STEP organises youth engagement programmes that focus on social and cultural activities, leadership, innovation, life sciences and the environment.

NTU – The Centre of Business Sustainability at Nanyang Business School
The Centre for Business Sustainability at Nanyang Business School (NBS) focuses on corporate sustainability and responsible business operations, with respect to the natural environment, society and communities.
The Centre organizes discussion forums and seminars on Business Sustainability including an interdisciplinary Research Seminar Series, where leading global scholars on corporate sustainability present their latest research. Partnering with Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) and Singapore Business Federation (SBF), the Centre writes case studies on Singapore firms that have successfully implemented sustainable business practices and innovative green technologies. The Centre’s affiliated faculty members teach modules and research on sustainable sourcing and supply chains, sustainability strategy and governance and financial Impact of corporate social responsibility.
